Functions of the Speaker

Purpose to provide political and Executive Support Services to the Mayor and EXCO

1. Enhance public participation programmes
2. Ensure Council meets at least quarterly
3. Presides over council meetings
4. Facilitate liaison between Council and stakeholders
5. Coordinate Public Participation, CDW and Ward Committee
6. Monitor the implementation of Council resolution
7. Ensure councilors comply with code of Conduct
